Wow – so much for my plan on regular entries to my blog! Can’t believe it’s already April and it’s been 6 months since I’ve visited this lovely little blog. Ah, well. Rest assured I’ve been busy designing new cards and such. I’m heading to the National Stationery Show in NYC at the Javits Center, May 16 thru 19 to exhibit my new line. I’ll be in Booth #1359 in case you can stop by.

I have had a great time designing a series of cards based on textile designs (with a few wallpaper influences thrown in) – a pretty broad range of textiles, both modern and classic. Check out my website to see the entire line.

Most exciting for me is the launch of my Block Printed cards. I have re-discovered a love for linoleum block printing (an image of a sailboat has hung on my parents wall for years and years…) and have applied that to a series of notecards. One batch of cards features tattoos from French Polynesia dating to the mid-1800s. I came across an image of a tattoo from the Marquesas Islands and was immediately captivated by the beauty of the image. That led to several visits to the library and, ultimately, this series of cards. The other series of cards represents what I enjoy of the beautiful Rocky Mountains that surround me – lots of wildflowers and those wonderful aspens.

Spent an entire afternoon in Powells Books – such a great place to discover new ideas. Wander the stacks, sit and read awhile while sipping a cup of tea, wander some more. Had to ship back all of my purchases. I can’t wait to dig into them when they arrive!
